Volunteer

jerome-sevaSeva ~ Volunteer Service at the Centre

The blessing of giving volunteer service ~ ‘Seva’ ~ is truly a joy.  It is an opportunity to imbibe, to learn and to ‘live the life’ working alongside the Centre family of full-time volunteers. Experience what spiritual family life is all about! Seva volunteering is available throughout the year ~ whether you wish to come for hours, days, a week, a fortnight, or an extensive stay of live-in Seva.

Contact us with any questions or to book.  We always welcome hearing from you.

The opportunity of a lifetime: We are looking for a person or a couple to join the Centre’s family. We meditate, live, play and work together to help all who come as well as to learn from each other. We live within lovely gardens in a large section with a pool, mature trees and extensive flower, vegetable and fruit gardens. The work is varied and we like to put our individual strengths to use while also learning new skills. We all like cooking and are vegetarians, though have an open mind. We use Pure Meditation as a tool to further our peace and wisdom, and we have acceptance of other people’s meditations. There is no hierarchy. Each person is responsible for themselves, jobs and actions. There is a Guru (wise soul) to seek advice from, if you wish to do so. Are you interested? Please contact us.

Live-in Service

Giving Seva residentially is a wonderful opportunity. Learn and grow as you work alongside the spiritual family in joyful giving.  We have had volunteers stay from all corners of the planet, whether as part of their travels in New Zealand, or making the trip especially for the experience.  Hear what two volunteers have to say about their recent time at the Centre:

Corey-&-Steph“Thank you so much for opening your doors to Steph and me. We were both seeking a spiritual experience where we could grow in New Zealand, and our time here has exceeded our wildest expectations. It’s been amazing to see how a spiritual family works and inspiring to see the dedication of the members of this wonderful community. We will take the lessons we learned with us…” Corey & Steph, Wisconsin, USA

kathieI remember the happiness I had while giving Seva at your Centre. You all made me feel like family when I stayed there, and my heart felt joyful to be of some help.”
Kathie Schmitt, Illinois, USA

jerome-blockquote“Seva is such a rewarding experience for me. It is the chance to help the Centre and the opportunity to give and it is a lot of fun.”
Jerome Rusk, Auckland

Seva Working Bee Days

We’re currently focussing on maintenance and garden projects. We are also underway with large sorting projects in anticipation for the rebuild work. Can you help? In addition to have helpers most days of the week, we also have designated Seva Days so that we can make headway on these project. We’d love to have you join us. Contact us for the next Seva Day date or to help us throughout the week with the painting and construction.

Seva Weeks

Seva Weeks are also service but have a set date. During this time we decorate and maintain all those areas of the Centres which we cannot always get to during course or retreat weeks. A ‘working party’ time, all pulling together with our energy, skills and willingness to learn/attempt anything. Please do let us know if you would like to join in for all or parts of these times. Only requirement – to be ready to work in love and happiness! See our schedule for programmed seva weeks and remember that seva can be booked in at most any time throughout the year.
